Watch Great Wrestling

WGW is an informal research project with little-to-no methodology seeking to answer the question "What makes a great wrestling match, and why?" We watch the best wrestling matches of all time, suggested by you, and then show them to our friends to see if they hold up!

It's finale time again at TIA so that means the booth expands from three men to four. Joaquin, Frank, Chuck and Producer Tom gather together to reflect on what they've learned in the second leg of their informal research project with zero methodology.

Also, in a first for This Is Awesome, your boys are joined by cartoonist, illustrator and professional wrestler Andy Belanger aka Bob "The Animal" Anger! They talk Andy's origins as a pro wrestler, his philosophy in the ring, and the importance of character inside the squared circle.

Remember, if you have match suggestions for us to watch for the show, his us up @TIAPOD or e-mail us at thisisawesomepod@gmail.com

See you in the off-season!

Apr 20, 2017

This week, your boys head across the pond to the Electric Ballroom in Camden and watch a No Disqualification match for the PROGRESS Championship as the extraordinary Will Ospreay challenges the maniacal Jimmy Havoc.

Joaquin, Frank and Chuck ask the big questions for the final match of the season. Questions like: Why is a British guy willingly drinking a Budweiser? How many AFI songs is enough AFI songs? And does using an axe raise or lower the technicality of a match?

Crashing the party this week to help your boys make sense of the insanity is TV's Jason Gibbs!

This week, your boys are celebrating Billy Zane month by watching a match from his favorite Halloween Havoc Pay-Per-View.

It's title vs mask for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship as Rey Misterio Jr and Eddy Guerrero throw down! So grab a purple La Croix and your Phantom skull rings and join your boys Joaquin, Frank and Chuck as they Slam Evil and break down all of the action.

Running in this week to chat wrestling is graphic designer and denizen of the internet, Matt James!

It's Sports Entertainment at its most sports entertainmentiest!

This week Joaqiun, Frank and Chuck are checking out Dude Love vs Steve Austin for the WWF Championship with Vince McMahon as the special guest referee from Over the Edge 1998. Come for the wrestling, stay for the stooges, blimps and Undertakers. And don't forget to write down the number to the Briscoe Bros body shop because this one is a car wreck.

Descending from the internet to join your boys is Dreamworks storyboard artist Bryan Mann.

Remeber, if you have awesome match suggestions you want your boys to watch for the pod, hit us up @TIAPOD on twitter or e-mail us at thisisawesomepod@gmail.com. And don't forget to rate and review us (5 stars!) wherever you get your podfill.
